Abstract

This research aims to analyze the contribution between lower limb muscle power and body balance towards shooting ability among soccer players at SMKN 1 Padang Panjang. Lower limb muscle power was measured through the Standing Broad Jump Test, body balance was assessed using the Stork Stand Test, and shooting ability was evaluated with the Shooting Test. Data collected from 20 soccer players were analyzed using correlation analysis techniques with the product-moment method.

The results of the first hypothesis analysis revealed a significant contribution between lower limb muscle power and shooting ability (r = 0.6398, p < 0.05). This indicates that players with better lower limb muscle power tend to have better shooting ability. In the second hypothesis testing, a significant contribution was found between body balance and shooting ability (r = 0.5444, p < 0.05). This suggests that better body balance can influence the enhancement of shooting ability.

The results of the third hypothesis testing showed a significant contribution between lower limb muscle power and body balance combined towards shooting ability (Fh = 9.7905, Ftab = 3.5900, p < 0.05). This finding reveals that these factors collectively have a significant impact on improving soccer players' shooting ability.

The conclusion of this study is that lower limb muscle power, body balance, and shooting ability are interconnected and significantly contribute to soccer players' shooting ability. The practical implications of these findings emphasize the need to focus on developing lower limb muscle power and body balance in training programs to enhance shooting ability among soccer players.
